Rui and Nicole

Hello! Welcome to Amasian Dietitians!

This site was created by Rui and Nicole. We recently earned our Registered Dietitian credential in August 2020. We completed our Treatment of Eating Disorders specialty dietetic internship and Master's degree in Nutrition & Health Promotion at Simmons University in Boston from 2018-2020. It's been a long journey yet an amazing experience to learn all about nutrition in different environments and levels of care. We believe that part of being healthy is not following a diet, but rather focusing on the mind-body relationship. We're here to break diet culture and raise awareness around diversity within this field and your plate!

How did we meet? Not to sound cliche, but we bonded instantly on the first day of orientation because we had similar interests in working in eating disorders. Additionally, we had a lot of similar experiences in relationships with food, health and body image topics as we both come from a heavily Asian cultured influence.

We created this blog as a space to share our stories with you, whether it may be about how we became Registered Dietitians, tips from our dietetic internship experience, our trips to yummy restaurants, discussions about trending topics... we want to cover it all!

This blog is for everyone to learn and to explore different topics surrounding health. We want to hear your thoughts, opinions too. This journey is continuous and there is so much we are continuing to learn as well.
